Bone loss

One of the diseases that many people fear as they are aging is osteoporosis, which can cause bone decalcification and even bone loss.  Bone loss is common with people suffering from osteoporosis, because it is a condition characterized by the loss of bone mineral density.  Bone loss during osteoporosis can cause an increase in the amount of incidental bone fractures and breaks that a person might experience.  Bone loss can also cause difficulty in healing after a person has experienced a bone fracture or break or another painful ailment.
While osteoporosis can contribute to bone loss, one of the primary factors in acquiring osteoporosis is a decline in the bone mineral density of an individual, which can be a very dangerous ailment. While there are circumstances where a person has a genetic predisposition to osteoporosis and bone mineral density, many times the symptoms and causes of osteoporosis and bone loss are treatable, if not preventable.  Bone loss and bone mineral density loss can often be prevented or at least managed by maintaining a healthy balanced diet and a regular exercise regimen.  Maintaining healthy exercise habits is a prime factor in keeping your bones healthy and strong and preventing bone loss and rebounding is a great way to prevent these types of ailments.
